The Healing Power of Crystals

Crystals have been used for thousands of years for their healing properties and ability to conduct energy. Many ancient civilizations including the Egyptians, Greeks, Romans, and Native Americans used crystals for various purposes such as healing, protection, and spiritual practices.
The concept of crystals conducting energy can be traced back to the Greek philosopher Thales of Miletus, who is believed to be the first to suggest that all matter is composed of tiny particles that he called “atoms”. This theory laid the foundation for the idea that crystals possess a unique molecular structure that allows them to hold and transmit energy.
Whether you place crystals on specific points of the body, wearing them as jewelry, or keep them near you, individuals can harness the healing energy of these beautiful stones to improve well-being.
The history of crystals and their ability to conduct energy is a fascinating topic that spans across cultures and centuries. Whether used for healing, protection, or spiritual practices, crystals continue to hold a special place in the hearts of many people seeking balance and harmony in their lives.

Train like an Olympian, or at least recover like one!

This month we’re talking about how to stay fit and active at any age or level. It’s only fitting that we take a look at how the best of best do it while we are in the midst of the Summer Olympics.

First, a little history lesson: Hippocrates was a Greek physician and considered to be the father of modern medicine. He was one of the first to say use Nature to heal your body.
Ancient Greeks greatly emphasized strengthening and building the body’s innate resistance to disease. Hippocrates recommended exercise, gymnastics, massage, and hydrotherapy for this. He stated that “Nature itself is the best physician”

Training like an Olympian takes dedication, hard work and a strategic approach. There are essential components to that training and recovery for athletes to perform at their best in competitive athletics.

1. Set clear goals! Start with specific, measurable goals that you want to achieve in your sport or active lifestyle in order to remain focused and motivated.
2. Create a training plan. Work with someone to design a detailed plan that includes a mix of cardio, strength training, flexibility and skill-specific drills. Not an elite level athlete? Find someone who can help you modify a plan to fit your ability level and needs.
3. Stay consistent! Olympians train year-round. Make sure you stick to your training plan and put in the work every week. Whether high level athlete or older adult trying to stay active, consistency is key to maintaining functional and performance level.
4. Focus on quality over quantity and train smarter, not necessarily harder. This will often produce better results.
5. Cross train: Incorporating a variety of exercise into your routine, including water based methods, can be highly effective to enhance performance and prevent injury.
6. Fuel your body properly with a balanced diet and stay hydrated!
7. Rest and recover. Get enough sleep, listen to your body when it needs a break, considering incorporating massage therapy into your recovery.

The Mystery surrounding Shungite

Shungite is a black, lustrous, non-crystalline mineraloid mostly made up of carbon. It was first described from a deposit near Shunga village, in Karelia, Russia, from where it gets its name. Shungite is unique and has attracted attention for various applications, from water purification to other health benefits such as EMF protection.

Shungite is a fascinating mineral with a rich history and a variety of uses. Its high carbon content, conductivity, and presence of fullerenes make it unique among minerals. It has been used traditionally for water purification and has gained popularity for its EMF shielding properties more recently. Care should be taken in using Shungite for water purification as it needs to be a cleansed version of Shungite and a specific process in order to avoid the unintended consequence of introducing heavy metals.
For EMF and other protection, it is not recommended to have electronics in contact with the body long term. Cellphones in pockets or computers held directly on your lap for long periods are discouraged. Shungite can help decrease those exposures by absorbing a portion of the waves. It can be adhered to electronics (cellphones, tablets and laptops), worn on the body (bracelets and pendants) or displayed nearby electronics (bowls and other shapes).
R3 Wellness offers a wide selection of Shungite products in raw, tumbled and Elite forms. Whether you need a cellphone, tablet or laptop sticker or would like wearable bracelets and pendants, we have options for you to choose from. Additionally we stock desk accessories made from Shungite for those that cannot adhere it to their devices or need a portable solution. Are you in Balance? Part 2…

Are you in Balance?  Part 2…

Welcome to our two part series on Balance.

Being balanced can refer to both a physical need and also an emotional, mental or spiritual need.

Finding balance in our mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being is the focus of part 2 of our balance series. This is like tending to the different parts of ourselves that make us feel whole. Mentally, it’s about nurturing our thoughts and beliefs, finding ways to manage stress, and staying mentally sharp. Emotionally, it’s about understanding and expressing our feelings in healthy ways, building resilience, and fostering positive relationships. Spiritually, it’s about connecting with something greater than ourselves, whether through religion, nature, or personal beliefs, and finding meaning and purpose in life. When we prioritize these aspects of ourselves and strive for balance, we create a foundation for overall well-being and fulfillment.
Achieving mental, emotional, and spiritual balance involves practices and habits that nourish each aspect of our being.

Are you in Balance?  Part 1…

Welcome to our two part series on Balance.

Being balanced can refer to both a physical need and also an emotional, mental or spiritual need.  For part 1 of our series, we will focus on the physical portion.  Do you or someone you know have issues with balance or stability?  Are you afraid of falling, or maybe shuffle your feet when you walk, catch your toe on objects or generally feel clumsy in a busy environment?  Do you need to hold on to something to feel steady when you are out in public?

Physical balance is the body’s superpower that helps us stay steady and coordinated when we move around. It’s all about keeping our body in control, whether we’re standing still or on the go. Imagine trying to walk a tightrope without balance—it would be pretty tricky! That’s why having good balance is so important for everyday tasks like walking, running, or even just bending down to pick something up. It’s our body’s way of staying safe and efficient.
Having good balance isn’t just about not falling over—it’s also about keeping our muscles and joints working smoothly. When we have strong balance, it helps us stand up straight, move better, and avoid hurting ourselves. Plus, it’s not just about our body—it’s also good for our brains! Balancing exercises help our brains stay sharp and focused, which can improve how quickly we react to things and how well we understand where we are in space. So, by working on our balance, we’re not only keeping our body healthy but also giving our brain a workout too!

Want to figure out a plan for your physical balance needs? Call R3 Wellness today to schedule a session to see how we can help improve your Balance with our state of the art proven technologies at affordable prices.  Custom packages available to suit your individual needs!

What is Reiki Energy Healing?

Reiki is a holistic healing practice that originated in Japan in the early 20th century. Rooted in the belief that life force energy flows through all living beings, Reiki aims to balance and harmonize this energy to promote physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. The word “Reiki” itself is a combination of two Japanese words: “rei,” meaning universal or spiritual, and “ki,” referring to the life force energy that animates all living things. Practitioners channel this energy through their hands, employing a gentle touch or hovering motions over the recipient’s body to facilitate the natural healing processes.
