Shungite is a black, lustrous, non-crystalline mineraloid mostly made up of carbon. It was first described from a deposit near Shunga village, in Karelia, Russia, from where it gets its name. Shungite is unique and has attracted attention for various applications, from water purification to other health benefits such as EMF protection.

Shungite is a fascinating mineral with a rich history and a variety of uses. Its high carbon content, conductivity, and presence of fullerenes make it unique among minerals.
